Welcome to Cuban Styles Academy
The Cuban Styles Academy in Malta consists in the study of the five main sections which group the different Cuban dance styles:
Cuban Modern Dance Technique, Afro-Cuban, Franco-Haitian, Popular Cuban Folklore and Urban Style.
We offer professional Cuban Dance courses aimed for everyone (from beginner to advanced) who would like to study and make the difference in order to be able to dance ANY Caribbean Style SOLO, in COUPLES and in a GROUP (choreography & rueda de casino).
It is an Academy because, unlike a conventional Cuban Salsa class, all Cuban styles are explained through an Academic Method created and conducted by Prof. Famoso Salvador Rodriguez, who is specialized in Afro-Cuban, Franco-Haitian and Popular Music, Dance and Culture:

Meet The Professional Team
Famoso Salvador Rodriguez is a Professor certified at Universidad de Oriente (International Relations Section) in Santiago de Cuba. He is specialized in the methodology of teaching Cuban Dance with the mission that everyone can learn Cultural, Musical and Dance roots.
In the past 10 years, Salvador has trained more than 500 professional dancers and is the founder of the FSR Method, one of the most complete to develop any dance style.
During the five University years, Salvador developed not only talents as a dancer but a strong desire to spread this culture specializing in the art of teaching as a professor and choreographer. He reached such maturity that he graduated at the end of five years, as Professor, Dancer and Choreographer in Afro-Cuban and Franco-Haitian dance, culture and music.
Additionally, Salvador is a Fitness Instructor with 11 years of experience specialized in different sectors focused on the preparation of the body.
Plus53 is honored to have an assistant teacher for Cuban Salsa and Bachata courses. Meet Angela, our talented teaching associate. In her second year at Plus53 Academy, she’s mastering the FSR method to bring her students the best dance experience possible

Plus53 is an academy with over 20 years of experience in studying and developing Cuban culture, music, and dance. Through this journey, we’ve had the opportunity to share the amazing world of Cuban styles with people from different countries.
From Cuba to Malta, our journey has been one of discovery, education, and joy. Now based in Malta, we aim to make this beautiful pathway known to all, both residents and visitors alike.

"This is for sure the best that one can get in Malta. The methodology taught is easy to understand. Once one understands the method, one learns it and never forgets it. The classes are also enjoyable. No partner needed. I used to avoid dancing before as I felt that my knowledge was too basic, so i lacked confidence. Now I feel i can dance confidently. Dancing partners at the party sometimes tell me that they are surprised I have only been dancing 4 months. Anyone who is interested should attend a free trial class. Each week there is a party organised by the academy. I attend each time to practice and enjoy."
