Our Mon, Wed and Thu are your chance to experience that magic, to feel the heartbeat of styles like Yoruba, Son, Guaguancó, and more, and bring them alive in your salsa and Cuban timba/casino dancing.

If you’ve been dancing salsa for at least six months, you’re ready to unlock a new level. These courses aren’t just about learning steps, they’re about living the music, feeling the culture, and dancing with the heart of Cuba. Here’s what you’ll experience:

  • Learn and integrate more than 10 authentic Cuban dance styles into your salsa and casino.
  • Recognise exactly when and how to use each style for a richer, more dynamic dance.
  • Improve your musicality by understanding Cuban rhythms, instruments, and their stories.

  • Dance with confidence and true Cuban identity, and share that energy at every party.

Note: You don’t need a dance partner to join the class.

Your Cuban journey, step by step through the soul of Cuba

From October 4th 2025, every Saturday from 16:00 to 18:00, you’ll explore a different Cuban style. Each session includes cultural context, music, history, and practical application to your salsa or Cuban timba/casino dancing, you’ll immerse yourself in a different rhythm, story, and energy.

Program (Saturdays):

  1. October 4th –  Cuban Modern Dance Techniques & Body Preparation (move like a professional)
  2. October 11th – Son (elegance in every step)
  3. October 18th – Guaguancó (playful energy and rhythm)
  4. October 25th –  Columbia (the challenge of precision and power)
  5. November 1st – Reparto (the heartbeat of modern Cuba)
  6. November 8th – Yoruba (feel the power of the Orishas)
  7. November 15th – Congo (strength and tradition)
  8. November 22nd – Arará (colour and spirituality)
  9. November 29th – Timba Cubana (pure Cuban fire)
  10. December 6th – Choreography (bring it all together in one show)

Your guide to the Cuban way. Learn from a certified Cuban styles professor

These courses will be led by Prof. Famoso Salvador Rodriguez, who holds a university degree in dance from the Universidad de Oriente in Santiago de Cuba.

He has trained with Cuba’s most prestigious dance companies and masters, including:

  • Agrupación Folklórica Tiempo Joven

  • Compañía Teatro de la Danza del Caribe, under the legendary Maestro Eduardo Rivero Walker, National Dance Award winner in Cuba (2001)

With over 20 years of teaching experience and a career dedicated to preserving and sharing Cuban dance culture, Prof. Rodriguez will guide you through an immersive journey into styles rarely taught outside of Cuba.

Membership Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a Plus53 membership, you are reserving your place for the selected course period and agreeing to these Terms & Conditions.

Membership Payments & Refunds

Membership purchases are subject to the Consumer Rights Regulations (S.L. 378.17 of the Laws of Malta) and the applicable consumer protection rules administered by the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA).

For online membership purchases where the statutory right of withdrawal applies, consumers have a 14-day withdrawal period starting from the date the membership is purchased online and payment is completed, in accordance with Regulation 10 of S.L. 378.17.

Once the applicable 14-day withdrawal period has expired, membership payments are non-refundable for a change of mind or personal circumstances.

Choosing to stop attending, deciding that the course is no longer suitable for you, work or personal commitments, holidays or travel, missed classes, changes to your personal schedule, or distance from the Academy do not entitle you to a monetary refund.

Missed classes do not reduce the price of the membership and are not refundable.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights that a consumer is legally entitled to under Maltese consumer protection law.

Class Flexibility & Make-Up Classes

The class day selected during registration helps Plus53 organise groups and attendance. However, students are not permanently tied to that specific day.

If you are unable to attend your usual class, you may attend another available class of the same level, subject to availability.

If you miss a class because of travel, work, holidays or other personal commitments, you may request to attend an additional class during another week as a make-up class, subject to availability.

Students may also request to change their regular class day during the course. For example, if your personal or work schedule changes, you may move from one available class day to another without having to purchase a new membership.

These flexible options are provided to help students make the most of their membership. They do not create an entitlement to a monetary refund for classes that the student chooses or is unable to attend.

Class Schedule & Changes

Plus53 reserves the right to make reasonable changes to class schedules, days, times, instructors or teaching locations when necessary.

Students will be informed of relevant changes whenever reasonably possible.

Requests to move to another class, change the regular attendance day or attend a make-up class are subject to availability and the capacity of the requested class.

Membership Credit

If you are unable to continue the course, Plus53 may offer the unused value of your membership as credit instead of a monetary refund.

Any credit granted will be valid for 12 months from the date it is issued and may be used towards an eligible future Plus53 course, subject to availability.

After the 12-month validity period, any unused credit will expire.

Membership credit is personal and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Course Attendance

Purchasing a membership gives the student access to the selected course for the applicable membership period. The membership price is not calculated according to the number of classes actually attended by the student.

Personal absences, holidays, travel, work commitments or other circumstances that prevent attendance do not reduce the membership price.

Where possible, Plus53 will provide reasonable flexibility through alternative classes, make-up opportunities or membership credit as described above.

Events & Additional Activities

Social events, practice sessions, parties or other activities organised by Plus53 outside the regular course programme are not automatically included in the membership unless expressly stated otherwise.

Any applicable entrance fees, tickets or additional charges for these activities will be communicated separately.

Student Conduct

Students are expected to behave respectfully towards instructors, staff, other students and the facilities used by Plus53.

Plus53 reserves the right to take appropriate action in cases of seriously inappropriate, disruptive, abusive or unsafe behaviour, including refusing participation when reasonably necessary to protect instructors, students or the learning environment.

Acceptance

Before completing registration, students are responsible for checking the information provided about the course, including its location, schedule, duration and programme.

By completing your registration, accepting these Terms & Conditions and proceeding with payment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Membership Terms & Conditions.
